They go there and there Shadow temporarily sides with Black Doom (which explains why Black Doom comes in the Last Story to congratulate him and tells him to hand over the Emeralds) just to spite Sonic, which results in them fighting, where Shadow proves to be superior. While Shadow's thinking about something which probably didn't happen, they already end up on the ARK, where they notice the Black Comet. This sends him into another flashback rollercoaster, where Maria asks him to destroy Arctificial Chaos experiments who have gone crazy (probably Emerald's power twisted his lost memory as a side effect of being used as a fuel). He offers Shadow to go with him to the ARK, but he steals his Emerald instead.

Escaping Eggman's Cyberspace teleports him into Iron Jungle, where he meets Sonic. Besides, it would explain why Espio fights Egg Breaker with him. He does that, since as he stated in the cutscene before the level, he also wants to know what doctor is up to.

That brings him to Mad Matrix, where Espio asks him to help him access Eggman's 4 terminals. I can only assume he helped Charmy in hope to find anything there that would help him find out who he truly is. This is where Shadow finally gets interested in helping heroes. Then he meets Charmy, who wants Shadow to help him find secret discs. He somehow escaped and then was captured. Next up is Prison Island, where he gets flashbacks and assumes what happened after Maria got shot. That means he goes for neutral mission again. Then in Glyphic Canyon, he still doesn't care about eliminating Black Arms, let alone helping them. Starting with Westopolis, he can't go for a dark mission or hero mission, as the opening cutscene stated all he wants are the Chaos Emeralds, so he goes for neutral. Now we need to establish the path that Shadow took to get to Black Comet with Sonic. We'll come back to this ending later, it's crucial to understand the path Shadow takes. Semi-hero (dark ending) probably won't fit, because Shadow decides that he's "the protector of the ARK" or whatever.

That leaves us with pure hero (dark ending). That removes another ending, semi-dark (dark ending) where Shadow acknowledged that Black Doom is his "dark lord", as well as pure dark (dark ending) where Shadow completely loses it and probably destroys the planet shortly after the cutscene ends. It's a Black Comet level, however we may assume that Shadow just teleported there after getting the Chaos Emeralds to destroy it. Next we need to take a look at the stage itself. That leaves us with pure dark (dark ending), semi-dark (dark ending), semi-hero (dark ending, Eggman doesn't die there, Shadow just tells him to f-off) and pure hero (dark ending). As we can see, Eggman and Black Doom are pretty much alive and well, that means both neutral endings, semi-dark (dark ending), pure dark (hero ending), pure hero (hero ending) and semi-hero (hero ending) are out.

To do that we must analyse the second cutscene in the ending where Black Doom teleports the Comet to Earth. Keep reading on if you would like to see some of the most notable tweets related to Shadow the Hedgehog that popped up this afternoon.I've been thinking about this since I started playing this game so I decided to finally make a complete analysis which one of the 326 paths (yes, there aren't only 10) are canon.įirst we have to find out which ending makes sense logically. Still, this whole ordeal prompted a lot of conversation around a potential Shadow the Hedgehog 2 today, which is something that I have a feeling those at Sega surely didn't expect. Instead, the M rating seemed to be for Lost Judgment, which is an upcoming game from the studio behind Yakuza that Sega briefly showed in the trailer. Since Shadow the Hedgehog is meant to be a dark and gritty title compared to other Sonic games, many took this to assume that perhaps Sega would be bringing Shadow back. The main reason why Shadow the Hedgehog began trending in the first place is because at the beginning of today's stream, Sega added a disclaimer that noted some of the titles in the presentation were for mature audiences. Although Shadow the Hedgehog is a divisive installment, to say the least, it seems like many fans were genuinely hoping to see Sonic's rival return in a new game of his own. Not long after Sega's "Sonic Central" broadcast ended today, social media lit up with fans wondering why a sequel to Shadow the Hedgehog, the 2005 spin-off entry in the franchise, wasn't unveiled.
